Services Provided

The Birth Center is not just for birth!  We provide full-scope care for women of all ages.  Our focus is to empower our clients through holistic health management and education.

Well Woman Gynecologic Care:

We provide annual exams with Pap smears, mammograms, contraception/ birth control, Natural Family Planning, holistic management of menopause, preconception counseling, and much more.  We also offer free pregnancy tests.

Prenatal Care:

Our initial prenatal visit is one hour.  All of the other prenatal visits are 30 minutes.  We focus on creating healthy pregnancies through education and nutrition.  We encourage family members to come to the visits and help out.

Labor and Birth:

A midwife meets you at The Birth Center and stays with you throughout your entire labor, monitoring and providing support.  We encourage use of the birth balls, the hot tub and shower, rocking chairs, birth stools, and walking. Now, you have the option to birth your baby into the water! You wear your own clothes, eat and drink your own food, and choose your position for delivery.

Postpartum and Newborn Care:

The postpartum care provided by The Birth Center is unmatched.  The midwife stays with you for a portion of your postpartum stay; the Registered Nurse stays with you for your entire postpartum stay.  Infants are never separated from mothers.  They stay skin-to-skin and nurse during the first hour.  We come to you for a home visit on the third postpartum day to check on you, weigh the baby, and provide breastfeeding support.  Both you and the baby have a one-week visit at The Birth Center.  We do the required newborn metabolic screens and hearing screens.  If you choose to circumcise your baby boy, our consulting physician will come to The Birth Center to perform the procedure for you.

We encourage all of our mothers to exclusively breastfeed! We are a 
 Breastfeeding Supply & Support Center.
